Walked around the waterfront area near JR Aomori Station today. The triangular building is called ASPM, which is a symbol of Aomori City. The Aomori Bay Bridge and the Hakkoda-maru (a large ship which carried many passengers but now is used as a museum) were also beautiful in a cold winter air.
Then I walked about 10 minutes to reach Utou Shrine, a long-established Shinto shrine, located at the center of Aomori City. Bought a charm and prayed for my happiness in the future.

Visited Fukaura Town today. Located in the southwest of Aomori Prefecture, the town faces the Sea of Japan. Stopped by at a yakiniku restaurant Youyou (pronounced “Yo Woo Yo”) for lunch. Tried their Chashumen (a ramen with roasted pork slices). Like it.
When I was strolling around the shore in Fukaura Town, enjoying the view of the Sea of Japan, I noticed an unusual wooden boat. Obviously it was not a domestic fishing boat. Every year, a considerable number of drifting ships, or ships drifted ashore, are found along the Sea of Japan coast. The number of these mysterious ships reported last year totaled 225.
